| Charlotte, N.C. – Next week’s EGOLF Tour Championship at Spring Creek Golf Club and Stoney Creek Golf Club at Wintergreen Resort will not only serve as the tour’s season-ending event, but will bring to a close two exciting races that have been simultaneously contested over the past two months. The S&K Menswear Fall Finale Series will reward its winner with a check for $500 and a $500 gift card to S&K Menswear. David Robinson maintained a slim lead in the series despite finishing a disappointing T53 at last week’s Walnut Creek Open and failing to secure any points on the week. While Robinson stands alone at the top with 2,278.33 points, Kevin Kisner closed the gap with a runner-up finish at Walnut Creek that brought his points total to 2,206.43. The winner of next week’s Tour Championship will collect an additional 2,000 points, thus allowing 16 players to still have a shot at the Fall Finale Series title. In total, $2,500 will be distributed to the top five on the points list in the form of gift cards to S&K Menswear stores. Along with the S&K Menswear Fall Finale Series, the EGOLF Points Race will conclude next week at the Tour Championship as well. Kevin Kisner’s runner-up finish at the Walnut Creek Open pushed him past leader Cory Kaufman on his way to the top of the points list. Kisner currently sits with 1,207 points, but cannot rest easy as there are currently six players within 300 points of his lead. Robinson, a three-time winner this year and the tour’s first player to eclipse the $100,000 mark in season’s earnings, is in fifth place on the list with 1,000 points – just 207 shy of Kisner. Mathematically speaking, there are still 100 players with a chance to win the points race as every player receives 200 points for participating and points for top 10 finishes are doubled next week. Whereas a win netted 500 points in the previous four events, a win this week will result in 1,000 points, thus bringing even more drama to the table. At the end of the tournament, the top 10 players on the EGOLF Points Race list will share in the $50,000 bonus pool money, with the winner taking home a stout $20,000. The EGOLF Tour Championship will be played on October 16-18, with players splitting the first two rounds between Spring Creek Golf Club and Stoney Creek Golf Club at Wintergreen Resort before moving to Spring Creek for the final round. |
