Individual Events:

The Southern Open
July 15-17 (54-hole event)

The Club at Irish Creek
Warrior Golf Club

The fifth annual Southern Open will once again be conducted at The Club at Irish Creek and Warrior Golf Club, two player favorites over the past seven years of the eGolf Professional Tour. The Club at Irish Creek, formerly known as Kannapolis Country Club, recently underwent a massive transformation via Davis Love III and his design company, in turn producing a masterpiece that Golfweek named the No. 9 “Best New Course of 2008.” Love managed to incorporate the majestic pines and hilly terrain of the old course and mesh it peacefully with the more open vistas of the new – all the while maintaining the charm that Kannapolis kept for so many years. Warrior Golf Club is a traditional Stan Gentry design that has hosted countless tournaments throughout the years and plays around 52-acre Lake Wright. This riding event will feature a purse of $220,000 and a winner’s check of approximately $30,000.

Forest Oaks Classic
July 22-24 (54-hole event)
Forest Oaks Country Club
High Point Country Club – Willow Creek

After spending two years away from the Greensboro, NC area, the tour returns to two stout venues in Forest Oaks Country Club and High Point Country Club. Forest Oaks hosted the PGA Tour’s best for 30 years as the site of the annual Wyndham Championship and produced winners such as Seve Ballesteros, Raymond Floyd, Davis Love III and Lanny Wadkins. The course underwent a restoration courtesy of Love’s design group in 2005 and re-opened to rave reviews for that fall’s event. High Point Country Club’s demanding Willow Creek course is a Willard Byrd design that hosted the LPGA Tour’s Planters Pat Bradley International for 10 years – an event that was won six times by a future LPGA Hall of Fame member. In addition, the course has hosted 11 Carolinas Golf Association championships, including the prestigious Carolinas Amateur and North Carolina Amateur a combined five times. This riding event will feature a purse of $220,000 and a winner’s check of approximately $30,000.

Columbia Championship
August 5-8 (72-hole event)
Columbia Country Club – Ridge/Tall

The tour makes it’s fourth straight trip to Columbia (SC) Country Club for the fourth of six $300,000 tournaments in 2009. The Ridge and Tall nines are used at Columbia for the event as players are treated to fast, undulating greens that were the trademark of designer Ellis Maples and his mentor Donald Ross. The club has hosted numerous regional and state tournaments throughout the years, including the 2004 South Carolina Amateur Championship. A field of 162 players in this walking event will be competing for their share of the $300,000 purse and a chance at the estimated winner’s check of $50,000.

Monday Qualifier:

August 3, 2009
Columbia Country Club

The Monday qualifier for the Columbia event will take place at Columbia Country Club in Columbia, SC. Players will be vying for one of 10 available spots in this walking only qualifier.

Fifth Series - All Three Events:

Individual Events:

River Run Championship
August 12-14 (54-hole event)
River Run Country Club
NorthStone Country Club

Players will be rewarded in this event as River Run Country Club and NorthStone Country Club are known as two of the best layouts in all of Charlotte. River Run was designed by Robert Walker and Raymond Floyd and recently underwent a complete restoration. The course is known as one of the most difficult in the Charlotte area and is a past site of the North Carolina Amateur Championship. NorthStone is a P.B. Dye layout that bears striking similarity to some of his father Pete’s best work. The course is highlighted by undulating putting surfaces and a handful of risk/reward shots that have made numerous eGolf Professional Tour players back off a time or two. This riding event will feature a purse of $220,000 and an estimated winner’s share of $30,000.

South Charlotte Classic
August 19-21 (54-hole event)
Carolina Lakes Golf Club
Cedarwood Country Club

The tour visits Carolina Lakes Golf Club for the first time and makes its first trip to Cedarwood Country Club since 2006. Carolina Lakes is a Tim Freeland design and was nominated for Golf Digest’s “Best New Courses Under $75” list. The demanding layout, featuring arguably the best quartet of par-3s in the Charlotte area, plays throughout hilly terrain and features undulating greens that tend to roll off into collection areas on all sides. Cedarwood is a traditional Ellis Maples design that has been a Charlotte staple since it’s inception in 1964, when it hosted Palmer, Nicklaus and Player in an epic exhibition that quickly became the talk of the town. In 2005, noted restoration specialist Kris Spence brought the greens back to their original contour and put the bite back in Maples’ original layout. In 2006, Navy star Billy Hurley claimed the tour’s Cedarwood Classic title with a 54-hole total of 9-under 204, in turn justifying the course’s difficulty. This riding event will feature a purse of $220,000 and an estimated winner’s share of $30,000.

The Championship at Savannah Harbor
August 26-29 (72-hole event)
The Club at Savannah Harbor

The tour makes it’s second trip to Savannah, GA on the year for yet another $300,000 event in the historic city. This will mark the first time the tour has visited The Club at Savannah Harbor, which is the annual site of the Champions Tour’s Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf tournament. The course, designed by Bob Cupp and Sam Snead, meanders throughout the tidal wetlands of South Georgia with sweeping views of downtown Savannah and the Westin Savannah Harbor, which is attached to the property. This walking event will feature a purse of $300,000 and an estimated winner’s share of $50,000.

Monday Qualifier:

August 24, 2009
The Club at Savannah Harbor

The Monday qualifier for the Savannah Harbor event will take place at The Club at Savannah Harbor in Savannah, GA. Players will be vying for one of 10 available spots in this walking only qualifier.

Sixth Series - All Three Events:

Individual Events:

Walnut Creek Open
September 16-18 (54-hole event)
Walnut Creek Country Club
Kinston Country Club

Walnut Creek returns to the 2009 schedule for this September event, co-hosting with nearby Kinston Country Club, which is making it’s tour debut. The Ellis Maples-designed Walnut Creek course meanders throughout the majestic pine trees of Eastern North Carolina and plays in and around a plethora of well-placed ponds and lakes. Past champions at Walnut Creek include Nationwide Tour player Jeff Curl, former NCAA Individual Champion Jonathan Moore and three-time Canadian Amateur champion Richard Scott. Kinston is a 1940 Ellis Maples design that requires precision shotmaking and thought, as opposed to bravado, off the tee. The course hosted the 2000 and 2003 North Carolina Junior Championship. This riding event will feature a purse of $220,000 and an estimated winner’s share of $30,000.

Cabarrus Classic
September 23-25 (54-hole event)
Cabarrus Country Club
Charlotte National Golf Club

Cabarrus Country Club and Charlotte National Golf Club pair to host this late season event in the greater Charlotte area. Cabarrus, designed by renowned architect George Cobb in 1966, is a traditional style golf course that plays in a parkland-like setting amidst mature pines and daunting ponds. The latter is never more apparent than on the par-3 15th, which plays over a pond and features a shallow green and shaved approach bank – similar to the par-3 12th at Augusta National. Charlotte National makes it’s annual appearance on the tour’s schedule after hosting the inaugural event in 2002. A hidden gem in the Charlotte area, the course features immaculate greens each year and treats players to true golf – 18 holes without a house to be seen. This walking event will feature a purse of $220,000 and an estimated winner’s share of $30,000.

October 7-10 (72-hole event)

The Manor Resort

For the second year in a row, the tour will be playing at The Manor Resort in beautiful Farmville, VA. The 72-hole event, which features a $300,000 purse, will be contested on the lush Manor Golf Club course which features wall-to-wall bent grass. In 2007, the course was honored with a spot on Golf Digest’s prestigious “Best New Courses” list, being named the No. 4 best new course of 2007 that you can play for under $75. A field of 156 players in this riding event will be competing for their share of the $300,000 purse and a chance at the estimated winner’s check of $50,000.
