River Run Classic Washed Away  

Davidson, NC-The Tarheel Tour’s River Run Classic was canceled at 6:45 AM Wednesday morning due to torrential rains in the Charlotte metropolitan area Tuesday and Wednesday. The storm, which is the remnants of tropical storm Fay, dropped more than eight inches of rain on River Run Country Club’s par 72 7208 yard layout in less than 36-hours leaving the course unplayable.

The tour would like to thank Director of Golf David Ross and his entire staff, as well as golf course superintendent Mac Ryan and his staff for all of their hard work this week. The tour looks forward to returning to River Run in 2009.

The next event on the Tarheel Tour schedule is the Charlotte National Open, September 24-26. The Charlotte National Open is part of the S&K Fall series as well as the EGOLF Points Race. For more information go to the Charlotte National Open information page.
