Blustery winds approaching 20 miles per hour from the late morning on, as well as slightly firmer playing conditions, made scoring more difficult during the second round. The difficult conditions contributed to a bunched leader board with 13 players within three strokes of the lead heading into the final round. Fifty-nine players made the cut which fell at 1-over-par 145. Those making the cut will compete for the $129,400 purse with a winner’s share of $20,000. The third and final round of the Cabarrus Classic will begin at 7:30 a.m. on Friday. As always, the event is free and open to the public. |
