Kisner Continues to lead at Bermuda Run

Bermuda Run, NC- 2007 Match Play Champion Kevin Kisner fired a 4-under-par 68 in the second round to maintain his lead after the second round of the Tarheel Tour’s Bermuda Run Open. The former University of Georgia All-American recorded three birdies and an eagle against just one bogey to climb to 9-under-par for the tournament. With a win tomorrow, Kisner would move into second place on the 2008 Tarheel Tour money list.

2007 Spring Creek Classic Champion Roberto Castro backed up a 1-over-par 71 with a tournament low 8-under-par 64 to grab a share of the lead with Bradenton Beach, FL resident Jason Kokrak. The former Georgia Tech All-American went out in a blistering 6-under-par 30 en route to 64. Kokrak, who finished in a tie for third with Kisner at the Cabarrus Classic, fired a 6-under-par 66 to move to 7-under-par for the tournament and grab a share of second place.

Another Georgia Tech alum, Kevin Larsen, is alone in fourth place at 5-under-par 137 after rounds of 68 and 69. The Santa Barbara, CA resident is competing in his first event on the Tarheel Tour.

A group of ten players are in a share of fourth place at 4-under-par including the last two champions of the Bermuda Run Open, North Augusta, SC native Scott Brown and Spartanburg, SC native John McAllister. Brown, a former standout at USC-Aiken won last season while McAllister took home the title in 2006. Also in the mix at 4-under is leading money winner David Robinson who moved up 21 spots with a 5-under-par 67 in the second round.

Benign conditions and warmer temperatures made for ideal scoring weather as the field of 124 players took full advantage averaging just 72.51 strokes on the 7082 yard Par 72 Main Course at Bermuda Run. Forty-seven players made the cut which fell at 1-over-par 143. The final round of the Bermuda Run Classic will begin at 7:30 a.m. on Friday at the Bermuda Run Main Course with the final group slated to tee off at 9:45 a.m. on the first tee.
